Open Export in the editor header to create a finished video, an audio-only file, or a subtitle file from the active Timeline. Export does not consume ChatCut credits, although plan permissions and cloud export quotas can still apply.
Export video
Web video
- Add at least one clip to the active Timeline; Export is disabled when it is empty.
- Select Export → Video.
- Choose H.264/MP4 or VP8/WebM, a resolution, frame rate, and the full Timeline or marked Zone.
- Select Export and follow the queue under the header Export button. Keep the project tab open while browser rendering runs.
The Web default is 1080p H.264. ChatCut automatically selects browser or cloud rendering for manual Web exports. Cloud video offers 480p, 720p and 1080p; browser video can also offer 4K when the Timeline and device support the selected output. Cloud rendering needs the required media uploaded and accessible. See Web vs Desktop Export.
Desktop video
- Open the project in ChatCut Desktop and confirm that the required media is available there.
- Select Export → Video.
- Choose Dynamic Range (SDR, or HDR when supported), Resolution (480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K), Frame Rate, Video Bitrate and export Range.
- Select Export, or Export Zone when exporting a marked Zone.
- Respond to the save dialog to choose the destination, then follow the export queue. Keep Desktop open while it renders.
Open the finished video to check picture and sound before sharing. See Desktop Local Export and 4K for the local workflow.
Include captions in the video
Video export renders the active, visible captions into the picture. Turn captions on, choose the intended caption track, wait for transcription, and check the words and layout in the Viewer before starting. Hidden captions or the None preset are not included in the video image.
The styled captions in the video are part of its picture. Use Export → Subtitles as a separate output when you also need editable SRT or plain-text TXT. Open the finished video to check picture, sound, and caption placement.
Export audio
For Web, select Export → Audio, then Export to create an MP3. Manual Web audio export automatically selects browser or cloud rendering according to compatibility and current service settings. Keep the project tab open while browser rendering runs, and let required uploads finish for cloud rendering.
In Desktop, the Audio tab offers AAC, FLAC, MP3 and WAV under Format. Choose the format and export range, then select Export or Export Zone for a marked Zone. Follow the displayed progress and delivery messages, and open the resulting file to check its sound. These Desktop choices differ from the Web MP3 output.
Export subtitles
- Turn on captions and wait for every clip on the active caption track to finish transcribing.
- Select Export → Subtitles.
- Choose SubRip (.srt) or plain text (.txt), then export.
The exported text follows the active caption or translation track. If the tab says to turn on captions or wait for transcription, resolve that state before retrying.
