Your credits history is the account-level source for your current balance and completed ChatCut credit transactions. The same screen also has plan and payment actions. On the web app, it opens from **Credits history** in the avatar menu. In ChatCut Desktop, it is **Plan & credits** in Settings.

## Open Credits history

### On the web app

1. Open the avatar menu in the top-right of the editor.
2. Read the current plan and balance shown near the top.
3. Select **Credits history**.
4. Use **By Day** for daily totals, **By Type** for feature totals, or **Detail** for individual transactions.

### In ChatCut Desktop

1. Open the account menu by selecting your avatar and name at the bottom of the left sidebar. If the sidebar is hidden, select your avatar at the top right of an open project, or select the sidebar icon at the top left (**Show sidebar**).
2. Select **Credits**, which shows your current balance. Settings opens on **Plan & credits**. You can also select **Settings**, then **Plan & credits**.
3. Read your plan under **Plan** and your balance under **Balance**.
4. Under **Usage**, use **By type** for feature totals, **By day** for daily totals, or **Detail** for individual transactions.

If your Desktop account menu shows **Credits history** instead of **Credits**, your version uses the web app’s screen: select **Credits history** and follow the web app steps.

In **Detail**, a negative entry is a charge. Open or read the newest matching entry to see the completed action and the balance after it. Use this record—not a preflight estimate—to verify what was actually deducted.

## Verify credits added by a purchase

1. Open your credits history.
2. In **Detail**, find the positive entry for the purchase—marked **Pack** for a credit pack or **Subscription** for plan credits—and the balance after it.
3. Match the date and product shown in the billing or checkout record.

Do not infer the number of credits from the payment amount alone. The selected product, billing period, and account promotion can change what a payment adds. If the payment completed but no matching positive credit transaction appears, record the date and payment details, then use **Feedback** or email [team@chatcut.io](mailto:team@chatcut.io).

## Find plan and payment actions

The actions shown depend on your plan and payment state. A missing action usually does not apply to your account right now.

- **Web app:** **Credits history** shows **Buy Credits** beside your balance and a **Subscription** section with **Change Plan**, **Cancel Subscription**, **Resume Subscription**, and **Manage Payment** (**Update Payment** when a payment is past due).
- **ChatCut Desktop:** **Plan & credits** shows **Buy credits** in the **Balance** row. The **Plan** row has **Upgrade**, which opens the available plans, plus **Cancel subscription**, **Resume subscription**, and **Manage billing** (**Update payment** when a payment is past due).

## Check charges after another generation attempt

Requesting a new generation for the same idea may use credits again. Before submitting another attempt, check the AI conversation and **My Assets** for the existing job or result. Review any confirmation card and credit estimate shown; saved Auto-Allow choices can affect whether a card appears. See [Generation Confirmations and Auto-Allow](https://pr-668-preview.chatcut.dev/docs/generation-confirmations).

After the attempts complete, compare the corresponding negative entries in **Detail** and the resulting balances. Similar titles or outputs alone do not establish that the same job was charged twice. Use the completed transactions to check actual deductions.

If a charge is still unclear, use **Feedback** or email [team@chatcut.io](mailto:team@chatcut.io) with the relevant dates and history entries to request a review. You do not need to run another paid generation to report an existing charge.
